Even if your child brushes properly twice a day they may still develop cavities. This can happen because of the grooves and dents in the back of your child’s teeth. Everyone has these and they can be really hard to clean!

So is there anything that can be done to prevent this? Luckily there is, and it’s dental sealants. Studies have shown that sealants can reduce decay by up to 70% and can last for up to a decade!

A dental sealant is a tooth colored plastic filling that will fill those little grooves so that bacteria has no where to hide.

Applying dental sealants is a simple process that doesn’t hurt at all! First, Dr. Satyaki will clean your child’s teeth then apply a solution that will allow the sealant to stick tightly to the tooth. Dr. Satyaki will then paint the sealant on in a liquid form that hardens in about a minute. And that’s all there is to it!
