As a general dental professional, Dr Rifat brings in a repertoire enriched through 23 years of clinical excellence and ongoing education.
After receiving her BDS degree from Rajeev Gandhi University in 1997, Dr. Rifat joined the busy practice of renowned Dr. S Nadkarni in Mumbai, as an associate.
She went on to establish independent practice 2 yrs later, having gained exponentially from the experience and knowledge of her mentors.
Dr Rifat was associated with Zulekha group of hospitals, between 2002-2021, where her repute for consistent, high caliber treatment outcomes, and fortitude earned her additional responsibilities of Dept Head and Clinical Quality Coordinator.
As a meticulous, patient-centred clinician, she focuses on thorough evaluation to drive accurate diagnosis of conditions of varying complexity.
Dr Rifat is passionate about applying her gifts of clinical insight, compassion, and effective communication to manage dental anxiety, prioritizing patient’s goals, hence encouraging timely, customized as well as evidence-based treatment solutions
Although she revels in providing for patients from a myriad background, race and culture, she is fervently devoted towards oral health solutions for older adults, alongside medically and physically compromised, psychosocially vulnerable persons since this cohort suffers multiple limitations and obstacles that challenge their ability to benefit from routine care.
Her Geriatric Dentistry degree from University of Southern California, US in May 2019, has strengthened her resolve to meaningfully impact oral health of this fastest growing segment of population worldwide.Dr. Rifat has co-authored research on “Association of oral health and nutritional status in older adults: A systematic review with meta-analyses”, published in Journal of Prosthodontic Research.
She currently serves as country ambassador to UAE, for Federation of Special Care Dentistry, a society dedicated to persons with unique health care needs.
