Dr Arjumand Kabli completed a course in Craniofacial Manipulations., in Melbourne.. This is another step taken by her ,while on the journey to treat her patients holistically. Holistic Dentists use a variety of alternative therapies in addition to traditional dental  procedures to promote healing and prevent future problems .  Cranial manipulations can be used to treat certain cases of TMD and headaches.

Dr Arjumand Kabli has the unique privilege of being a Dentist who is also a certified Myofunctional Therapist.

This places her in the best possible position to help patients with disorders related to mouth breathing, tongue thrust swallow pattern, snoring, sleep disordered breathing, sleep apnea, tongue tie, abnormal jaw growth patterns and TMDs ( temporomandibular disorders).

Myofunctional therapy can treat a variety of conditions, in addition to preventing future problems.

With orofacial myofunctional therapy, a main goal is to establish nasal breathing and correct oral posture by toning and repatterning the head and neck muscles. By “repatterning,” we literally mean re-creating strong pathways between the brain and these muscles. This is what makes it so successful.

What we do in orofacial myofunctional therapy is focus strictly on the ‘why’ and break that negative cycle. It is part of Functional Medicine. It is a holistic approach to solving orofacial imbalances.

Dr. Arjumand is a certified provider for the Homeoblock and the Vivos DNA appliance.

These appliances are revolutionary patented oral devices.

Often, our craniofacial development does not reach its potential due to some factors such as: our diet of soft processed food, the polluted air we breathe, and a lack of proper breast-feeding.  Our bodies want symmetry, balance and health. The lack of proper craniofacial development is the primary cause of many jaw joint problems and most sleep and breathing disorders.

The Homeoblock and Vivos DNA  appliances  work with the body so that physiological changes occur naturally. The appliances are designed in a way that  sends a cyclical intermittent light force signal to the periodontal ligament, which surrounds the root of the teeth. The  unique Unilateral bite block simulates the body by replacing the missing hard food in our diet. Epigenetic signaling generates new bone growth and positional changes in the facial bone structure.

These craniofacial changes occur due in part to each person’s genetic potential.  Years of treating patients, has shown, that the development of the bones of the face, results in better jaw alignment, improved head posture and the strengthening of the muscles for swallowing and breathing.

Treatment  results in remodeling the maxilla (upper jaw) and provides proper  jaw positioning and more room for the tongue. When you wear the Homeoblock/ Vivos, the only way you can swallow is the correct way, by pressing the middle third of the tongue flat against your palate.

Clinically we can expect to see a wider smile and greater facial symmetry. Since the changes are physiologic and they allow the body to develop the symmetry it wants, the result is a proper alignment of the jaw which in turn improves our head posture. The development of the face and airway are linked. As we see changes in the face we can expect improved airway toning as well.
