Can you always feel tooth decay?
Nope, you can’t always rely on ‘pain’ to determine how healthy your teeth are. Dental sensitivity varies from person to person, it depends on how extensive the decay is, and sometimes pain can mean something different from having a cavity. Most of the time dental decay goes unnoticed.
That’s why we recommend routine cleaning and check-up appointments, because sometimes it really does take an expert eye to identify abnormalities before they turn into bigger problems. Make sure to visit your family dentist every six months. We also use various means of caries detection like some colored dyes and x rays if needed to detect the root of the problem.
